Rustic Mission Trails Engagement
I often look through Facebook posts to see if anyone is looking for a wedding or engagement photographer so I can shoot my shot at em. A few weeks back I saw McKenna post about needing a wedding photographer in Southern California. So I was like Hey! That’s me! I did some creeping on her instagram and loved the aesthetic she was already going with, so I am not sure why but I just had a really good feeling. I reached out, telling her about my instagram and website and crossed my fingers.
A few days went by and she reached back out saying she liked my style too! I knew I had a good feeling for some reason! So blah blah blah, we are talking back and forth and she ends up booking me for engagement photos and her wedding photos. I was super stoked. Especially since its fall out now and she had mentioned wanting more of a “rustic” feel to their photos.
Im not sure if you’re from San Diego, but there is this AMAZING mountain area right outside of the city called Mission trails. I’ve gone hiking there a few times and love it everytime. I remember the first time I went I couldn’t believe this area was in San Diego. Like you walk one way and its wildflower fields, walk the opposite way there are some weeping willows, and walk out another way and it almost looks like red rock areas. Also, a weird side note, I have no clue how many “mission trails” areas there are, because I always go to the Father Junipero ones but i’ve met up with people in two other “Mission Trails” areas….Okay, back on topic… I had photographed a few engagement sessions there before so I knew the best spots already and I knew this would fit the vibe they wanted for their pictures.
Normally Im pretty early to my shoots, and I was, but they were there already when I got there. So we chatted for a bit while I got my shit together and away we go.
Nowwwwww one thing about me and these photo shoots. Im coming in my hiking shoes cause I get excited and am down to go wherever. McKenna was wearing her heels for the photos (and looked incredible in them) and ended up basically hiking a mile in her heels! And yes I did ask if she was sure she wanted to walk all over the place with me. But she was a super trooper and stuck it out. We got some photos in an open field, under trees, on a wooden fence, on cute trails, and some with the mountains in the back. When I got home I had sooooo many good photos to edit, and you know me, Im not gonna hold back on you guys. If there’s however many good photos, that’s how many I deliver to you.
I stayed up for hours getting my basic, quick edit so I could deliver some sneak peaks, and a few more hours cause I just was loving how they turned out. Happily she loved how they turned out too! Success!!
So, now I can only speak for myself but after this amazing shoot I really can’t wait to do their wedding day and get all those gems for them as well.
Til Next Time,
Adios motha fuckas
