The sweetest backyard bash

Growing up, my mom, siblings and I spent so much time on road trips. We moved around a lot and did a lot of traveling so see family. So whenever I start feeling stuck or melancholy I just long for a road trip. For this wedding I got the opportunity to fulfill my road trip needs by doing a few hours of driving to get here. que Bob Segar’s running against the wind

I was told that it was a backyard wedding, so I figured it would be something sweet and simple. Images came back to me of the yards I grew up in. But LET ME TELL YOU the SURPRISE I had when I saw this back yard. Literally a breathtaking view. I walked in and its a pool and Palm trees (So SoCal!) and then you see a view overlooking mountains in the background! This was nothing like what I imagined.

The first look, couple pictures, family and bridal party pictures all went super smoothly which was awesome. Then we get to the ceremony. Everything is so beautiful. It was a catholic ceremony in Spanish, which I am not catholic, and I don’t speak Spanish, but even so, the love coming from each person involved in all the traditions was so apparent. There’s something about seeing true love radiating off the couple and their loved ones that always takes me aback. Then we get to the most emotional part of the day (for me) The father daughter dance. And this wedding……freaking got me right in the feels. Instead of a traditional father daughter dance, the father of the bride got in front of everyone and sang the sweetest ballad for his daughter. que me subtly crying in the back

Then I drove home, listening to my fall girl tunes. When fall hits I’m all about the indie rock.

Such a sweet, intimate experience with photographing this wedding and once again Southern California exceeded all of my expectations.
