National Park Elopement….what do I need to do?
So, who doesn’t love a national park? Im a huuuuuuge fan. I even think when I finally have a wedding, I will get my photos in Yosemite (My favorite place in America). But with that, there are several things to think about….
First off, Picking a location. Pinterest is your friend here! Find a place that makes your heart sing. Once you find that area, Id suggest looking into your photographer. Most photographers have had to get permits to shoot places before, and may be able to assist you in this task.
When youre looking for your wedding/elopement photographer, I think the most important things are 1. Style and 2. personality. You want to choose a photographer that you already love the art that they are making. There are so many photographers that with a bit of searching Im sure you can find someone who suits your exact style. Next, Personality… This may seem a little bizarre, but this person will be with you all day on one of the biggest days of your life. You dont want them throwing off your vibe, so before hiring them, hop on a call to make sure you get along.
Since these are adventure weddings, you really want to think of practical details. How will you get there? Bringing water, food, etc. Will you be hiking? Do you need to have outfits to hike in and then change into your wedding gear? All things to think of. On top of that, you will want to be tracking the sunshine in consideration in that area.
Dont let this sound discouraging though! Because all of these details and plans can be thought of beforehand. The only thing you can’t control is the weather!
